WHAT'S ON
Mauritius Memories, 10th January to 20th January, 2018
It was wonderful to return to the stunning Indian Ocean resort of Belle mare Plage with 14 guests. From the very moment we arrived after a journey via Dubai we were well and truly spoiled. When I was 18 I had the honour to represent GB & I in The New Zealand Ladies Open, I returned from there with a message that everyone must visit that country before they depart planet earth. Mauritius is one of those countries too.
Here is some feedback from the trip..........
** '' What a wonderful trip despite the cyclone! Lora's organisation was superb and her work behind the scenes to make our stay so memorable must have been endless. Belle Mare Plage was a fantastic resort and we shall certainly look forward to returning in the future, hopefully, to enjoy better weather. The place is a little bit of heaven on earth. The staff were so welcoming and accommodating, the food varied and high quality. Our room was spacious and we had a nice patio that made easy access to the beautiful gardens, restaurants, pools and beach. Our golf coaching sessions were enjoyable and fun. Again Lora was amazing in the trouble she took to give us all group and individual coaching with the benefit of her expertise and valuable experience. It was a great pity that the weather was so unkind that we couldn't play all the golf we had hoped to, but we could see the calibre of the courses despite the torrential rain and wind.
We were so lucky to have met such a great group of ladies to share our holiday with and through all the difficulties that the Cyclone Berguitta threw at us we were able to sail through with the humour, high spirits ( the bars were extremely welcoming ) and Lora at the helm guiding and reassuring us all. Thank you so much, everyone, we are looking forward to our next trip together.

** I went on the trip to Mauritius in January 2018 and had an absolute ball.
Lora was the commensurate professional in all that she did; everything ran very smoothly (even Cyclone Berguitta!) and was superbly arranged and organised.
I particularly liked the focused approach to beginning my improvement, after all that was part of the reason for going. Completing aims and objective exercise, prior to sessions, was really helpful as it made me think about what I really wanted to get out of my time away. I loved being given a notebook to record my thoughts, tips and skill drills and I am still using it.
The instruction was tailored to my needs and related to my aims and objectives; sessions at the range were carefully planned with the time given to practice before giving more info.
Playing in teams and as individuals were motivational and gave me the opportunity to learn from others in a social environment.
Lora joined us on the course, playing some holes with each group as well as giving top tips’ to each of us whilst in situ. This was particularly beneficial as it helped me to work out how to play particular shots, lining up and where to position myself on the tee.
I’ve begun to apply the changes on the course and although the weather hasn’t been kind, others at my club have commented on the difference to my game. I’m aiming to reduce my handicap… the signs are very promising
Nothing was too much trouble for Lora, she went above and beyond what was expected of her as a host, giving willingly of her time outside of the golf environment. Tables were organised for us so that we could eat as a group on the days when we played which made socialising with the group easier. I’ve made friends that I’m sure will continue into the future.
I would thoroughly recommend a trip with Lora.

** I was rather nervous as I stepped off the plane on the tropical island of Mauritius. I had never been on a “coaching holiday” for golf. I was worried as a high handicapper – would they all laugh at me. Would Lora, the golf pro, be able to help me in any way?
I couldn’t have been more satisfied with my experience. Notwithstanding the cyclone which hovered just off the east coast of the island, I was delighted with my golf, with the lessons and with the reception from the other women who also attended.
Many of the women knew each other, but Lora soon made me feel at ease and included me in all the golf. We played a “fun” scramble on the first day – and I was delighted to contribute to my team’s score!
Lora arranged us into teams for the 10 days to give us a bit of a competitive edge to the golf games. She gave us lessons on the range, and she came out on the course with us – giving encouragement and support.
I was interested in Lora’s teaching approach as she allowed us to set our own agenda – to set our own learning objectives. By the end of the holiday, I was confidently using clubs that I carry with me in my bag but never use!
Lora was not just successful in golf though – she created a fun and pleasant atmosphere off the course too. She was always the consummate professional but engaged with us in fun activities too. She dealt with the inevitable difficulties within the group with great skill and lots of care to ensure we all felt well cared for and that we were all able to have a lovely holiday at the same time!!
I would highly recommend Lora’s coaching holidays – you will have a lovely time, and you will learn something about your golf!!! But it is up to you whether you improve!!!!

** I booked this trip as I was keen to play warm winter golf! I have been coached by Lora before and really appreciated her commitment to golf teaching and wanted to spend some more time learning and improving. Lora’s technical tuition was beneficial, and she always took time to ensure that I understood what she was teaching me. However, Lora was most helpful in giving me techniques to calm my mind in a golf competition. My technical skills are pretty good – but it is my “racing brain” that often lets my golf down. I’ve come back to the UK, having had a lovely holiday, and with some beneficial ideas to put into action.

** Just returned from a magical trip to Mauritius with Lora Fairclough golf. There are 6 reasons why I think it was so successful.
1 - Organisation Lora has everything planned down to the smallest detail (except maybe the weather)
2 - Choice of venue In Mauritius, we stayed at the Constance Belle Mare Plage, A beautiful 5*hotel in an idyllic setting on the east coast of Mauritius.
3 - Hotel. The hotel was truly 5* luxury. The choice of food was superb and the hotel staff were so helpful and friendly. Unfortunately, we had a couple of days of bad weather and the safety of the guests was of paramount importance to the staff who updated us at every opportunity.
4 - The courses. There were two championship courses both were beautifully situated, extremely challenging with excellent clubhouse facilities.
5 - The company. A lovely group of golfers, as usual, we all had so much fun on this trip, happy memories, beautiful photographs, and real friendships formed. I hope we all meet again.
And finally our coach. Well, what can you say about Lora? A professional to the end. We had excellent coaching as usual and on course tuition. Not too many things to remember at any one time. However, apart from all the serious stuff, there is such an element of fun and laughter in everything she does.
What more can you say about a wonderful golf experience. Thanks, Lora for arranging this trip
